Depart from NairobSamburu Sopai on safari. A fascinating drive North through constantly changing landscapes to Samburu, stopping for lunch en route near Mt Kenya. The Uaso Nyiro River, Samburu’s life support system, attracts plenty of wildlife as it meanders slowly through Acacia trees and Doum palms. Evening game drive in Samburu reserve. Spend the next two nights at Samburu Simba or Sopa lodge.

Day 2      SAMBURU

Morning and afternoon game viewing in Samburu reserve, a remote and dramatically beautiful area of arid bush country, brought to life by the Uaso Nyiro river on which the wildlife depend. It’s unique and compelling features are the stunning landscapes and unusual species of animal such as the handsome Oryx, long-necked Gerenuk, Reticulated Giraffe, Grevy’s Zebra and Kudu. Along the river trails, marked by ancient Doum palms, Lion, Elephant, Leopard, Buffalo, Hippo and Crocodile may be found.


Morning drive back to the highlands and on to the Ol Pejeta Wildlife Conservancy. Lunch and afternoon game drive in Sweetwaters private game reserve including a visit to the chimpanzee conservation project. Sweetwaters is a small reserve and contains a very high concentration of wildlife. Virtually guaranteed sightings of Black rhino, elephant and buffalo, with high chances also of spotting lion. Overnight at Sweetwaters tented lodge.

Optional night game drive, camel ride or guided walks can be booked at camp reception.


Leaving the green and fertile highlands, visit Thomson’s water falls before descending into the Rift valley and continue along the valley floor to LLake Naivasha Sopaake Naivasha. Lunch and time to relax by the swimming pool before an evening boat trip on the lake, with a chance to see hippo and over 400 species of colorful bird life. Overnight at Naivasha Simba or Sopa lodge situated in beautiful gardens beside the lake.

Day 5      MASAI MARA

A morning drive of great scenic beauty and contrast, passing Mount Longonot, a dormant volcano, to the Masai Mara, Kenya’s most spectacular game reserve. Lunch and an afternoon game drive. Spend the next two nights Mara Simba or Sopa lodge.

A full day game viewing in the Masai Mara. Elephant and Buffalo abound in the riverine forests, while out on the grasslands Impala and Thompson’s gazelle can be seen together with their attendant predators such as lion, Cheetah, Hyena and Jackal. The Mara is, in fact, the northern part of the Serengeti ecosystem and plays host to the vast herds of migratory wildebeest and zebra during the months of July to October. Lesser known species such as topi, hartebeest, waterbuck Eland and many small mammals create a kaleidoscopic picture of wildlife.

Day 7                             NAIROBI

Morning drive back to Nairobi.
